Good distraction, but the focus is still on alt right, white supremacists, and neo-Nazis that are trying to exploit a tragedy in order to recruit the gullible to spew their racist and violent agenda.

People need to be properly educated on how these monuments came about, what they represent, and why. For the record, Robert E. Lee didn't even want to be remembered in that way...in a statue as a reminder of what happened. Also, he fought to keep slaves in shackles, and, fought AGAINST this country but lost. Only then did he decide to follow the Constitution, under oath, and became a teacher...teaching enslaved blacks of course. Lee was almost charged with treason but, was essentially waived on a technicality. Those familiar with ALL his history know the story.

Had Lee actually won, then where would we be now in the sense of history? There's a major difference in owning slaves and fighting to keep people enslaved and in shackles...suppressed. Hell, a few blacks had slaves, too, but they treated the blacks better MORALLY while their white counterparts just broke blacks down mentally. In fact, white slave owners would still chastise black slave owners for treating 'their ni**ers' too good...and would often take them without even paying the blacks. Basically, the black slave owners had no power anyway. So much I could cover but, I'll do it in segments.
