First of all, he knew full well the dynamics prevailing in his Facebook atmosphere regarding the issue. The naked truth about this is that Tomlin was a ni**er BEFORE this anthem business came about but, he was just a 'good ni**er coach.' Trust me on this because we can see how he failed to address any of the white coaches or owners that kneeled ALSO with any vitriolic slurs.
