Neesee

It is Dec 30, 2:07 a.m. ..I am trying to sleep but can't.  Neesee's name is running around in my head..I keep wondering WHY? WHY?  I met her when she was in high school.  She seemed like a shy young lady with a quiet smile.  She was not loud or boisterous but she seemed to be quietly happy.  Why?  Why is she dead?  She was only 25 years old.  I had just spoken to her recently in the store...she was so proud of her little girl. She had a baby daughter, 3 months old.  Why?  I keep asking myself...She went to a local hospital but they said she only had an ear ache and sent her home..apparently she went more than once.  The last time I think someone finally said, "Enough!"  They took her to Vanderbilt Medical Center and she was given the correct diagnosis but too late to save her life.  You see, she had meningitis.  One of the classic symptoms of meningitis is an earache in which fluid is leaking out of the ear often accompanied by a high fever.  What surprises me and makes me angry is that it should have been diagnosed at the local hospital a lot earlier so she would have had a chance to live.  Did they not do the spinal tap because she was on Tenn Care and maybe this procedure has  price limits?  I hate to think of a world in which your ability to pay actually determines what type of medical help you will get.  She worked at MacDonalds.  She probably was like so many others in Tenn.  They don't make enough money to pay the rent and buy groceries let alone pay for medical insurance.  I was always taught that your largest expenditure which should be 25% of your salary is your house payment.  In many instances insurance company's are asking for more than $300.00 per month even if the person has no health problems.  There must be something that can be done.  There should not be two levels of care..one for the "Haves" and one for the "Have Nots". Littleoldlady,

I know her mother and aunt and I was so sorry that she had passed away. It is very sad to know that many people are misdiagnosed for the wrong ailments until it is too late. I myself am going thru something similar trying to find out what's going on with my health.

Such a heavy burden that the " Establishment " has placed upon the majority of US, What they Do isn't in our best interest and they choose to ignore what should be acknowledged.      GOD BE WITH ALL !
