Whistle Along With Me

The complete DVD collection of the Andy Griffith Show was released just last Tuesday. My set arrived today in the mail today from a very good online retailer at a very good price. I've got eight years of laid-back living in Mayberry to enjoy. What a great escape! I already have the whole Twilight Zone Collection. All I need now is the complete Leave It To Beaver series and I'll be in vintage TV heaven. Life on Elm Street is good.

Aye'...I gave season 4 of the Twilight Zone to my son for his birthday a couple days ago. Great DVD. Thanks again for the "Summertime" lead.

I've watched a few Andy Griffith shows on Nick at Night and, as an adult, I can appreciate it more for its portrayal of a single father/son relationship and the value of friendship. It was funny, but it was more than a comedy. Regarding Twilight Zone, I still can't be alone too long in a department store at night with the mannequins. That was the first one I ever saw. "Marsha...Marsha..."

Em - I'm sure we'll harmonize perfectly. Everybody knows that tune.

Rick - What a great gift for your son! Rod Serling would be proud. BTW, you might be able to sample that Ray Brown Trio version of Summertime online at one of the retailers like Amazon.com , Barnes and Noble, or some other one. Let me know if it's the one you heard on the radio.

justx - I too appreciate the wholesomeness and message of social responsibility offered by the Andy Griffith Show. And some of those TZ episodes creep me out as well, but it's a good creep...lol.

PS to my PM...I tried to listen to a sample at Amazon but for some reason it didn't work.
