  When you have enough inner peace and feel really positive about yourself, it's almost impossible for you to be controlled and manipulated by anybody else.

On the other hand, when we're restless, agitated, and/or lack self-esteem, we tend to rely on others for acceptance, approval, validation, and direction. I prefer to be the captain of my own ship.
