Questioning

O my body make me always a person who questions.

If we fail to question, Whose answers are we accepting as truth?  Blind trust can be lethal.  Clinging to the views we adopted years ago can mean we are afraid we may need to change.

We worry that examining our behavior and our motivations can make us appear insecure or timid.  Sometimes we take lifelong stands that cripple or pain us, but still we are adamant about our positions and too proud to rethink them.

Questioning--ourselves and others--can be the bravest way to live our lives.

I suppose clinging to our old ideas and feelings offers us a certain sense of security even though they might well be wrong or simply outdated. It really blows me away when I catch myself holding onto some very strong (usually negative) feeling, and I can't actually remember why I feel that way. I feel very stupid when I catch myself in that.

I think most of us do cling to old ideas.... change is dificult.   Many years ago an elder told me that self inspection is between me, meyself and I. It's your actions not your words that let others know when you have taken a look at yourself and decided to make a change for the better. She also said this puts you on a higher spiritual level which helps to bring balance into your life. It makes more sense to me now than 20 years ago.
