The reading/writing mechanics resistance makes sense

However, as there are obviously standard block lettering alternatives etc the greater problem is that they are not taught the actual meaning and why it's relevant to them individually & to our collective conciseness as a country

They need to be taught good old fashioned government like we were and learn this is a Republic, not a democracy.

They cannot read it, much less write in cursive.

You cannot expect today's youth to be able to read or write cursive when their teacher's can't. Give thanks to Affirmative Action.
