My Daddy put it like this ..."The man that turns and runs away lives to run another day!"

There is no contention with one who does not contend.

I disagree. Life is filled with adversity. Does this mean if you see a child neglected you should just walk away? Or should you confront the parents even if it means putting yourself in a bad situation?
Now, if you are talking about walking away from a stupid fight, of course that's the right thing to do. I don't even get angry when someone with 12 items gets into the 10 item express aisle! LOL But seriously, there are many times I wish I had faced a conflict instead of running away from it.

I love that statement...............most people say we're "weak"........but I agree completely......there is nothing to be gained from conflict or confrontation.

justx, The enlightened mind can successfully address such situations without being confrontational or resorting to conflict. All it takes is a little creative thinking. We don't have to ignore or hide from adverse circumstances. Instead, we can approach them with wisdom, peace, and compassion for all parties involved.

totally agree. after all, there's more than one way to solve a problem. conflict and confrontation is the least effective way. a waste of energy and resources.
