Emily, how does this differ from "love yourself" because I thought that was what the self-improvement gurus always say. I thought you were totally free when you stopped thinking about other people. I guess this is talking about altruism. Give to others and don't worry about what you'll have left. This is a wonderful way to live! However, there's that well known quote "no good deed goes unpunished" which I think of every time I put other people's interests or feelings ahead of mine and then get stabbed in the back.

Okay. Sometimes I become a little self-absorbed, but most of the time I'm a Do-Re-Mi person.
I have no idea what that means, but I have no control of the strange thoughts that come out of my fingertips.
