TRUMP SAYS IT’S TIME TO DENY ENTRY TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. CAN HE? [UPDATED]

"...8 U.S.C. §1182(f) of the U.S. Code confers on the president the power to turn away immigrants at the border. It provides:

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. ...."

" .... UPDATE: Congress has also given the president “expedited removal” authority. It allows deportation of an illegal already here (as opposed to exclusion of someone abroad) without going before a judge."

If he has the power to do this, what is he waiting for? If he would do this before mid-terms, Republicans would be a shoo in for retaining the majority in the House and Senate, plus he would be a shoo-in for re-election!!!

Thanks CARBOB. What he's tried to do short of this has been challenged in court and ruled on by activist judges. It's had to be ruled on and affirmed by the Supreme Court.

Case in point was the law separating families crossing the borders. Even though it was signed in 1997 it was presented by the corporate media circus for benefit of Democrats as being an action undertaken by Pres Trump alone.

It's interesting what his recent EO to not separate families has done is to hold potential human traffickers with kids they bring in. Sessions wants a DNA test for them to prove parentage which should be telling for at least some. Mission accomplished on many fronts.
