I saw that about him being shamed for working at Trader Joe's. How horrible to put down a man who is only trying to support his family. From what I read, he was working there b/c it gave him flexibility to find acting jobs and it looks like he did, good for him!

Lovely story about his son saying he had nothing to apologize for. I grew up in a small town with a bunch of rich rancher's kids and remember a time when my dad was standing on the sidelines of a football game with some of the other, wealthier farmers. He was wearing his work boots, having had to hurry to my game because of having to work late. There he was in his oil stained boots, them standing out amongst a half dozen pairs of expensive cowboys boots made of ostrich and other expensive leathers, but realizing the man that filled those dirty boots was twice that of the others, maybe no college degree, but more intelligent, better read and could do many things better than any of them. I quit being ashamed of not being as well off as my school mates that night.

Correction: "...other, wealthier fathers", not "farmers".
