I have been using Pale Moon, a Firefox clone. A few yrs. ago Ridge railed against FF so much when they forced out their CEO because he contributed/supported some family values organization, think it was and Ridge pressured me to switch. I did, but switched back when I couldn't find the extensions I so loved to use on FF, but with a recent upgrade, many of those quit working so I'm back to Pale Moon.

Anyway, PM has DuckDuckGo as their default search engine and I tried to change it to Google (being as how that was what I was used to) but couldn't and now I find Duck to be OK for what I want to do.

I'm still a little dependent upon Google for my YouTube addiction, having tried alternatives like BitChute and not been satisfied, and of course, my Blogger blog and the associated graphics/photo storage. I also haven't found anything to at least match Gmail's storage capacity; I have several accounts, and use them as backups to backups. I am also very used to it and since I'm an old fart, am set in my ways. I have an adblocker, so I don't see any ads on my main email page and I don't say anything that I mind them reading.

I did manage to cold turkey Facebook, never looked back. I do miss keeping up with my younger kinfolk and a few old school friends, but people prefer that to emailing for some reason, dunno why.

I kinda like Brave, I just started using it again and it is smokin' fast. I have fios which is close to 100M up and down.....everything is fast and Brave is almost instantaneous page rendering on all loading.

That was quite stunning to see and hear. I will miss GE but I will NO longer support anything Google. I have used Duck Duk Go off and on for a while now but will check out Brave, thanx for the info.

Posting from my new Brave browser! Seamless, quick and easy import of all my personal data (bookmarks, passwords, etc.) from Firefox (several other options available) and I will use it, see how it goes. I won't be able to use it all the time b/c I have some extensions I use often on Pale Moon and FF, but it sure seems to be fast, great for my other frequently visited websites. I am going to go try it on Feedly, which is normally slow to load b/c of how many subscriptions I have.
