I have always been under the impression that Australia is fairly seismically stable.* A quick search shows that is correct; there have been very few major quakes in Australia, something I have always found a little strange, considering the frequent quakes in their neighbor, N. Zealand.

*So stable that it's often been considered for deep underground international nuclear waste depositories, something they've always (understandably) resisted.

Thanks Mike. Earth's gravitational pull has decreased over the past few years, plus the sun is going through some changes, grand solar minimum I believe. In addition to that our solar system is going through an area of our universe where in history they say earth's inhabitants had extinguished themselves or vanished. Supposed to be lots of photons in this area so no one knows how humans will react, nor how the earth will either. Interesting times.
