Congrats - The best is yet to come.....

My congressional district is so red, the Dems didn't even put forth a candidate last election. There were two opponents,though....one from the Green Party and one from the Libertarian. Since there was no chance of a Democrat winning, I voted Libertarian (as I often do) My rep. still won with 90% of the vote and to be honest, I expect him to win again - not with that much of a margin, but very easily over 65%. (We DO have some California refugees in this area, some East Coast guys here to make money in the oil field)

Yeah, but it would be a safe bet to go with blue...at least better odds on it.   You go to the Austin area and you'll find a bunch of progressive refugees from California, those who had been laid off from Silicone Valley. Austin, Houston, Dallas, a big chunk of the Valley - they're all starting to go blue or have been that way for a while. Sometimes I think "Thank goodness for gerrymandering!" -grin-
