united states internet gambling enforcement act

Published:

what are your opinions on the internet gambling enforcement act?  looks to me like there is some serious wipe out being done before this act has even been set in stone.some of your biggest payment processers were firepay, neteller and click2pay.with firepay bowing out early on and now you have neteller where some people do their poker or whatever they do and now they are down for the count also.this leaves one company and i hope they stick with us and don't get intimidated into folding also.all this is really messed up for people who had skills and got the bills payed by playing these fun games.well i went ahead in advance and started preparing myself should something happen when this first started back in october.maybe it will and maybe it won't but never say never either way or your fooling yourself.these are my opinions and everybody has their own theories about what is going to happen.well i spent hours tonight on the poker sites.they are showing massive amounts of players switching to the only alternative left and quite frankly thats not good.this is going to put them from being in the background to the forefront.i wonder how long it will take before the government realizes what a dumb idea this whole thing was.thanks bill frist and i'll always be ashamed to admit i'm from the same state you are bozo....

It's ok to risk your money investing in a company on the stock market, it's ok to go into debt charging up more money than you have on credit cards, but if you want to wager a little cash playing online you're a criminal and need to be stopped. It's thinking like this that has created a huge divide between the everyday citizen and the politician. We have a "war on terror", citizens without healthcare, children without food, children being kidnapped/molested/killed, but what legislation gets passed? A ban on internet gambling. This is supposed to be the county of "freedom". Yet every day our rights to those freedoms are being chipped away. We need to tell our politicians that they need to get back to what they were elected to do and to stay out of our personal choices. The bill was snuck into a larger port security bill under cover of darkness. The bill also cost the author of the bill his congressional seat. Seems people don't re-elect nannies. The bill is also why Bill Frist will not be our governor,COUNT ON IT!

You can probably guess my opinion on this and many other stupid laws passed in the name of whatever boogeyman the gov't conjures up each decade or two (bootleggers, mobsters, counterfeiters, drug runners, and now... *drum roll*... terrorists). Our gov't has become larger, more broke, and more bone-heade than the one which led to the founding of this nation.

Mike - I like your comment about how the extra lottery/poker money pays some bills. I also play a lot of poker and get extra spending money from it. I like the thrill of the game, and I love the outcome. It's also my way of "escaping" the real world...brings some relaxation to my life and something to look forward to when the day is done. I don't know how much is in my Neteller...I sure hope not much, because I doubt I can get that money back. Perhaps the govt would rather us not make money from our skill sets and just go further into debt by not paying our bills, filing for bankruptcy and costing the govt more money in the long run. What a bunch of morons we have on Capitol Hill.

neteller released a statement today cps10.....they say they are done because of US legislation.your right all this does is hurt people like me and you who enjoy these games and make a few bucks to support ourselves.i never would've made it without all the money i won last year.5 grand goes a long way.

With all that is going on with this legislation I have shut down on internet lottery wagering. closed down operations.
I will entertain myself now with tracking and playing the cash 5 game in S.C.. Grab a hundred thou if I hit the right combination or maybe multiple 4 of 5 wins.
Then the gov't can tax the hell out of it when I win the big money. They will be happy then.

It is bad...I even found out that my Neteller account has been closed, although on their FAQ, it says they will not close US accounts...oh well, another $200 lost.

i couldn't find the edit.cps if you play poker a lot of them use click2pay too so you'll still be able to do the poker for now.if you haven't signed up with them i think they are still taking new people and they paid me when i won the couple thousand on both my pick 4 hits.i couldn't tell you they won't eventually pull out too.time will tell.....

I phoned   and set up a Western Union Swift Pay account. They gave me a 16-digit account number. It costs $6 per transaction, no matter how much you send . The operator said it takes about 15 minutes to complete the transaction. Screw the government! Playing online poker and Pick 3 is suddenly becoming a revolutionary act.

LottoMike:

Here in Amarillo we have Western Union locations at over 60 Toot n Totum convenience stores. Snow prevents me from trying it today, but it sounds like a good alternative. Seems like   has it worked out and the operator didn't seem too concerned. They seem to have the situation worked out. Ex-Senator Frist can shove his legislation up his holy-roller #%**@!!!
