I read Ford has until 14:30 hrs to give a reply to Grassley on appearing at the hearing.

This is what I think is going to happen.
Ford is not going to schedule to give her testimony, Grassley is going to set the day and time for the committee to vote. During that day and time for the committee vote Ford is going to appear in the committee chambers to protest Kav's nomination.
All he!! is going to break loose.

I used to think a lot of Flake, figured we would see him running for the Presidency someday*, but he's steadily lost my respect since then. I was very nearly a Never Trumper myself, but then considered what was at stake and he needs to do the same.

*Not sure what he's said lately, but not long ago he said he was considering running against Trump in '20. That campaign will go over like a fart in church.
