HEAD UP Oh Canada

Related terrorist attacks have been on the rise with our good Canadian neighbors to the North :-(

Thanks Eddessa. Let's hope in real life this was a pure accident. I posted it because it may impact the oil supply.

Refineries are dangerous places. I once hired on at the (then) Phillips refinery in the next town over and I really wanted to work a little closer to home and not have to drive that 60 mile RT every day. One day during the first weeks orientation and training, we went on a tour of the plant and while passing by one particular unit, I got the worst feeling of dread and alarm and it made me faint and nauseous. The teacher thought I might have had a whiff of Hydrogen Sulfide "Did you smell rotten eggs?" I assure him that wasn't it, but I wasn't about to admit to what I had felt.

I came home, told my new bride I couldn't work there, so I quit. It was a good paying job, but she didn't question me after I told her about my "feeling". About a month later, four of the guys I had gone to the yardman school with were killed, several others burned badly...at that very unit that freaked me out.

I've told that to just a few people in my life and have been met with different responses, some pooh-poohing it as mere coincidence. Might have been, but still.....I bet my premonition might very well have saved my life or kept me from being severely injured.

I said "four" but should have said "two". It was so long ago, I had forgotten the exact no. of deaths. There were 11 injured in that accident, 34 in another incident just a few months later.

A nearby chemical plant in Pampa, TX blew up in '87, killing 3 and injuring 30 more. I had driven there earlier that day and gone on to Amarillo with a friend and we were diverted on the way back, having to detour about 20 miles out of the way to get back to her house. The plant was nearly 7 miles from where she lived, but the explosion(s) broke windows in her house and cracked the windshield on my Scout.

Thanks Mike. I don't discount a person's premonition whatsoever. We have those innate abilities within each one of us but have been conditioned by society to disregard them. I suppose the Salem Witch trials made an impact which echoed down through history.

However the ancients used those abilities to remain alive and thrive.
