I saw that and thought it might be more of a humorous thing or for something like texting, shortcuts to phrases like BRB or TTYL.

I've made some great email pen pals here in LP and when we discuss the lottery, we use some abbreviations, some obvious ones such as PB and MM, easy enough to figure out, but others such as c/v for "cash value" for those who don't want to opt for the annuity.

I came up with one I use and had to explain to my friends: ATTH or "after tax take-home". If the c/v is a hundred million, they take 24% out right off the top, leaving you to pay another 13%, but I'd rather just get the tax out of the way and calculate what there would be left after the federal tax was paid, hence the ATTH of $63 million.
