The type of Socialism we rail against is exactly what Venezuela practices. They(Venezuela) interfered w/ free markets, nationalized industries while subsidizing others. Norway and the other Nordic countries, often touted as examples of successful socialism, don't really do those things. They do offer govt paid healthcare, sometimes free tuition to universities and have generous social safety nets but also have extremely high taxes. What they don't do is interfere in the private sector, at least not much. This practice leads to their high corporate and personal incomes that supports those high taxes which in turn supports those govt. entitlement programs.

The Nordic countries have a unique blend of socialism with a robust capitalistic economy. Norway has an advantage and the means to be semi-socialist b/c of being oil-rich. They could be classified as "democratic socialist state" but then again, so could the U.S. -or at least we're headed that way. The difference between the U.S. and Norway vs. Venezuela is that it is a totalitarian state and neither the U.S. nor Norway are....a HUGE difference.

Stop making excuses for your stupid behaviors. I just showed you a an article that proved you wrong but you think you're so smart and you can make excuses and divert rom the truth.
