Congress is failing in their duties to fund the secure fence act which is settled law.
Congress is overriding settled law with their denial of funds for the secure fence act.
H.R.6061 - Secure Fence Act of 2006
Shown Here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/109th-congress/house-bill/6061
Public Law No: 109-367 (10/26/2006)
(This measure has not been amended since it was passed by the House on September 14, 2006. The summary of that version is repeated here.)
Secure Fence Act of 2006 - Directs the Secretary of Homeland Security, within 18 months of enactment of this Act, to take appropriate actions to achieve operational control over U.S. international land and maritime borders, including: (1) systematic border surveillance through more effective use of personnel and technology, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, ground-based sensors, satellites, radar coverage, and cameras; and (2) physical infrastructure enhancements to prevent unlawful border entry and facilitate border access by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, such as additional checkpoints, all weather access roads, and vehicle barriers.
DO YOU GET IT. THERE IS NO FUKIN WALL MONEY AVAILABLE.

Sec. 2. Policy. It is the policy of the executive branch to:
(a) secure the southern border of the United States through the immediate construction of a physical wall on the southern border, monitored and supported by adequate personnel so as to prevent illegal immigration, drug and human trafficking, and acts of terrorism;
(b) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

-Here’s a breakdown of the projects, according to the agency:
• The fiscal year 2017 enacted appropriations provided $341 million to construct 40 miles of replacement primary pedestrian wall and vehicle barriers in multiple locations across the southwest border. So far, the Army Corps of Engineers has placed nearly $300 million on contracts, and as of Dec. 21, 2018, had completed work on 35 of those 40 miles.
• The fiscal year 2018 enacted appropriations provided $1.375 billion to construct about 82 miles of new and replacement border barriers in multiple locations across the southwest border.
Between March and July 2018, approximately $1.2 billion had been obligated to the Army Corps of Engineers for construction, real estate acquisition, and program management. And by Dec. 31, 2018, the Corps had a little less than $700 million under contract for construction of new and replacement wall system in the Rio Grande Valley, Tucson, Yuma, El Centro and San Diego sectors. An additional $300 million or so is ready to award when the government reopens.-
Take a close look at the very last sentence. That's $300M that Trump received the minute he reopened government, folks. Also, notice the term 'wall system' which will incorporate 'smart wall' technology as described by James Clyburn who is willing to give Trump the $5.7B strictly for an advanced wall system. This isn't rocket science, folks, and we could've avoided all of this embarrassment of a record breaking shutdown hurting businesses and people alike. Trump could've simply listened to Pelosi the FIRST TIME when she 'asked' him reopen government without specific wall funding and let's deal. Right? Hell, that's what Trump ended up doing ANYWAY but the collateral financial damage is now done.
*If the Republicans really want to do something very beneficial, slap muzzles on both Coulter and Hannity to keep them away from Trump's ears!!! They're the one's who caused all of this but, it's the Republicans that allowed it to carry on...Mitch McConnell. Other countries are laughing at the sheer ineptness of this administration as though we're a third world country! This whole argument revolved around terminology for adequate border security and Trump keeps his base locked in on the word 'WALL' as though it would be miles and miles of concrete. No, and Trump has finally decided to clarify that in light of major political losses...and actually used the term 'smart walls.' Here:
https://grabien.com/story.php?id=218997
-EXCERPT:
TRUMP: “The walls that we are building are not medieval walls. They are smart walls designed to meet the needs of frontline border agents and are operationally effective. These barriers are made of steel, have see-through visibility -- which is very important, and are equipped with sensors, monitors and cutting edge technology, including state of the art drones.-
Yeah, sounds exactly like what we've (Dems) been saying all along! Why is it that Republicans have to take the long way around, away from us, just to still arrive at the same d@mned designation...WITH US? Just senseless. Folks, we could've been where we are right now (36) days ago and no one would've missed a check. Think about that long and hard.
It's so obvious it was being leveraged for their own agenda. Trumpanzee can kiss 2020 goodbye. He has hurt so many people, they will not forget.
You stupid cow.
