We all live in a scripted reality

The last piece in this video features something I saw earlier today in another video which is very interesting. A 1958 Western tv show about a man named Trump who wants to build a wall and turns out to be a fraud.

Interesting video and I'd like to further elaborate on this border business especially regarding the Democrats' positioning on this in past years. First of all, NO DEMOCRAT ever voted for a border wall per say. It was under the terms of 'border barrier' and 'border security' when everyone up to Obama voted on funding and immigration, okay. This is a FACT so quit tossing around how Democrats wanted a 'wall' in years past and, especially under Obama. It's FALSE. There's this deal called the Secure Fence Act which clearly outlines what's to be done, where, and the amount is still based on many things. You'll never hear Republicans discuss this Act because it doesn't call for a wall anywhere. Only Secure Fencing/Barriers. Fact.

Regarding why Pelosi shot down Trump's disingenuous offer for DACA perks, here's exactly why:

https://wjla.com/news/nation-world/2006-secure-fence-act-vs-trumps-border-wall

Excerpt:

-In addition to the cost and the politics, Democrats are also concerned that President Trump will ultimately back out of any deal that funds border security in exchange for Democratic priorities, like a legal status for Dreamers or comprehensive immigration reform.

That's what happened in 2006, Bier explained. "They don't want to be played yet again."

In exchange for the votes on border security and border infrastructure under the Secure Fence Act, President George W. Bush promised Democrats a shot at comprehensive immigration reform. In the years that followed, more than 650 of the 700 miles of fencing was built. Democrats also voted to double the number of Customs and Border Protection agents in a short time, but comprehensive immigration reform never happened.-

Here's the REAL dead ringer about Obama's thoughts on border security/fencing in 2006 from the same article:

-Obama's 2006 Senate speech praising the Secure Fence Act, also warned that it was far short of a complete immigration solution. "It is great for sound bites and ad campaigns," then-Sen. Obama said. "But if we think that putting up a few more miles of fence is by any means the whole answer to our immigration problems, then I believe we are seriously kidding ourselves."-

Obama was 100% on board with barriers and all the security Customs needed as evidenced by the $46M they approved in 2013 but, it was for the TOTALITY OF BORDER SECURITY and not for just fencing or a wall. Here:

-
In 2013, all Senate Democrats and most House Democrats backed comprehensive immigration reform legislation, the so-called Gang of Eight bill. It included $46 billion for border security and around $8 billion to repair or reinforce barriers along the 700 miles of the border as required under the Secure Fence Act.-

Moving right along. The following excerpt is the actual TRUTH from this same article:

-"The Democrats don't oppose border infrastructure, they oppose President Trump," explained RJ Hauman, government affairs director for the Federation for American Immigration Reform. "It wasn't long ago that Democrats, including Schumer, supported border barriers. Now they are letting their hatred of President Trump cloud their ability to judge the merits of the proposal."-

Yes, because Trump talked too much $hit and told lies to his base about the whole topic of border security...especially that Mexico would pay for it. But, you won't see a single person around HERE hold Trump accountable for that lie or anything else in terms immigration. Anything negative on Obama over border security and immigration is what they'll rail on. Well, how about how Obama being the Deporter In Chief and supporting all that border security? You're all bonafide hypocrites, okay. All of you. Moving right along...again.

*Here's what none of those on the right nor around here and other blogs want to talk about:

-By the time Trump took office in 2017, the U.S. had built fencing along approximately 653 miles of the border. The effect, according to Customs and Border Protection, is a sharp decline in the number of individuals illegally crossing the border at points where fences were built. In Yuma, Arizona Customs and Border Patrol constructed triple-layered border fencing, combining physical barriers with surveillance, access roads and other technology. Apprehensions have dropped 90 percent since their height in the early 2000s, according to DHS.-

That's straight from the DHS, you idiots! You all need to get off of this BS wall crap and understand that the measures taken by Both Obama and Bush have sharply curved such illegal immigration the point to where it's actually those over staying their Visas that's the REAL PROBLEM now. Have a good look here:

https://immigrationreform.com/2019/01/17/visa-overstays-are-a-real-problem-not-a-convenient-excuse/

-Second, more than half of the illegal alien population is comprised of visa overstays, but what about the other (almost) half who could be deterred by a wall or stronger enforcement?

Third, the report focuses too intently on the illegal population from Mexico, while ignoring the growth in foreign students and guest workers, overwhelmingly from India and China, who violate the law by overstaying visas.

According to the Department of Homeland’s annual “Entry/Exit Overstay Report,” of the estimated 1.7 million students and exchange visitors who were scheduled to complete their program in the United States, some 700,000 did not leave. China had the most overstays with over 15,000.-

Listen, folks, illegal is illegal in the end and just because folks come here right but then stay illegally under the radar doesn't make it right since their here studying or whatever. It's so easy to target a party or the president you don't like on these terms but, it's really a much bigger issue which needs addressing on many levels, okay. You wanna know the REAL reason why illegal immigration on the level of Visa overstays is overlooked? It's because the government doesn't have to spend any $$$ on them...only to provide insurance. WE provide them with insurance as tax payers. Here:

Please click on the 8th and 11th bullet and see the FACTS. You know, I keep telling people that they really need to do a lot more diligence on the issues before injecting emotional statements/responses to sensitive topics. Knowledge is power, very informative, and keeps you from looking very silly in the end.
