Cool! I'm taking bets that it'll NEVER work based purely on exactly what Trump bases his idea of a national emergency on. Listen folks, and 'emergency' is RIGHT NOW meaning the first time he actually uttered it and not some +- 50 days later, okay. Furthermore, we're not facing a military foe or an onslaught of unusually aggressive migrants even if they did pick up small rocks and throw them at agents carrying rifles and pistols. You know, most people don't even know the history of the national emergency declaration clause which includes both side but, it's Trump's base which is really completely clueless. Hell, even Mitch McConnell has already sternly warned Trump against such a reckless move along with lots of others due to the fallout, stage it sets for the Democrats, and abuse of a rarely used power.

If you want just a brief tune-up, please read this article:

Excerpts of interest:

1) “The president’s power, if any, to issue the order must stem either from an act of Congress or from the Constitution itself,” said Justice Hugo Black in Youngstown Sheet & Tube vs. Sawyer. No law gave him that authority, he said, nor can it be “sustained as an exercise of the president’s military power as commander in chief of the armed forces.”

2)For example, the federal law that applies to the Defense Department includes a special provision on “construction authority in the event of a declaration of war or national emergency.” It says that in the event of war or the “declaration by the president of a national emergency … that requires use of the armed forces, the secretary of Defense, without regard to any other provision of law, may undertake military construction projects … not otherwise authorized by law.”

3)Legal experts expect the White House will cite this provision if Trump seeks to divert already appropriated money to pay for a border wall. Critics have noted the law focuses on supporting the “armed forces,” and a border wall is not a barrier against a military foe.

Gonna be interesting but my money is surely on the Supreme Court....and NO.

Yeah good luck with that one. It'll be in the courts for years. You have people on the border will have to give up their land, and there are certain spots that cannot have a fence on it. People aren't just going to willy-nilly give up there land with s wall which they don't even want in the first place.

Stupidity Beyond understanding.

A waste! The majority of crimes are committed by locals. The facts are the numbers are way down on illegal entries and arrests. A fabricated crisis that does more harm than good.
