I agree. Giving doesn't always have to be in the form of money. It doesn't even have to be charity. Just going out of your way to help someone is a form of giving. Asking a neighbor if you can watch her children while she shops for groceries or offer a ride to someone without a car or maybe carrying someone's groceries if she looks like she's struggling is a form of giving. Of course in this day & age, the lady would probably think you're trying to steal them! Ah, there I go again being negative! Speaking of giving people rides or doing a good deed...that can turn out to be a problem if they keep asking. I guess giving also means when to say "enough already" to people.

True. You don't want to become an enabler, if that's the correct word. I think I mentioned this on another blog once. I used to be the local taxi service around here for one couple and then I got a little fed up because there is much too much traffic around here, especially now. I like doing people favors, but I rarely ask for them. They don't talk to me any more.

if all they needed your company for was rides - good riddance.
