We desperately need to stop this "catch and release" method we are currently employing. I also don't understand the need for "hearings" on each and every one that is caught; of course every one of them is going to cry "Asylum!"

As far as I'm concerned, they are entitled to only basic human rights - to be fed and sheltered while in custody, but they are NOT citizens and should not be given more rights than the average American receives.

Of course, it wouldn't pass the "cruel and unusual" restrictions, but if I were King and someone was caught the second time, I'd tattoo - or brand - a big "IA" on their foreheads, make them much easier to spot the next time they try to sneak into the country.

(OK, that's more than a little extreme, but I am merely pointing out that what we're doing is not working, just as what we're doing in the "War on Drugs" is not working, either. If only one in ten shipments of drugs are interdicted, just imagine how many illegals are slipping across, too! "The definition of insanity...." applies to many things we try and are failing at.)

Thanks Mike. The left is hell bent on globalism which means socialism/communism. They want to turn the US into a frothing outdoor toilet pit of chaos and deprivation so that we'll fall on our knees begging them to do something. Method used is invasion just like the EU where their citizenry are in chaos. Maybe we should toughen border jumping laws to immediately deportation and if they want in they have to go through proper channels. But wait! That would throw cold water on who votes for the left who promises pie in the sky to all.

It IS an "invasion" and no different if it were Russian paratroopers dropping from the skies or Chinese storming across the border. If the related influx of drugs, disease and criminals isn't an emergency ,then I don't know what is.

And, we also need to do away with the anchor baby law; it's not provided for in the Constitution and could be done away with in the Congress in one day....that is, if any of them (Repub. OR Dem) had any backbone.

Diversity is NOT a strength as the left insists, but unity IS. I see no reason to cater to anyone who wants to come into this country, not only illegally, but also does not want to adapt to OUR culture.
