How so? The Electoral College gave him votes as the Constitution provides. Carter was a failure as president so has no real room to offer that pronouncement.

Carter interferes in elections all the time; he even started "The Carter Center" as a guise to "observe" elections. Since 1989, The Carter Center has "observed" 107 elections in 39 countries.

The only reason he went into politics b/c he was a p*ss-poor peanut farmer. At least he had a sweet wife and entertaining brother; otherwise-he was an ineffectual President and inspired zero confidence. The nation breathed one huge sigh of relief when Reagan became President and everyone quit slumping in shame and defeat and started walking confidently with our heads held high.

I'm sure Carter wasn't the only person to think that way. It's just that he had nothing to lose by speaking his mind or expressing his beliefs.
