caffeine drinks....your advice


anyone here like high energy caffeine drinks?

how do they taste and which are good?

I think they're dangerous. They are full of sugar and caffeine and speed up your heart rate. I've tried a few when I'm tired and I just feel hyper, not more energetic. The best way to get energy is to get some sleep, exercise and eat well, especially a good breakfast with protein. I can't tolerate those soy milkshakes, so I eat 2 large eggs every morning and, if I have time, a Morningstar or Boca Burger. I should go back to making my own fruit and vegetable juice. A glass of natural carrot-apple juice really gets you going, and adding some greens (like barley or wheat grass) is like putting premium into your tank. I have to admit, I drink 2 cups of coffee when I wake up to clear the fog, but that's all the caffeine for me, except for a little chocolate once in a while.

After all this, tonight I am making a grilled ham & cheese sandwich on white bread for dinner. Oh, well. I'm only human not perfect by a long shot! :-)

you need more sleep - not caffeine drinks. they can cause arythmia.

I was watching a news program the other night about the latest bar drinks like Red Bull & alcohol (like vodka) and it explained that neurologically caffeine is a stimulant and alcohol is a depressant, so you can drink a lot without feeling too drunk. The problem is that you have more alcohol in your blood than you think, so that can created a false sense of control and result in a DUI or worse.

I agree with you justxploring. But first I want to say something to you. I just wanna say that I admire the detail and the artistic nature of your writing. Concise, yet cautious....
Flowing but on track...I can go on and on.

But as drinks go, I don't like them at all. The only caffiene type that is nice to me is Tea. Green tea with antioxidants. The different kind of caffeine in coffee irritates me.
I've had to cut back on my drinking alchohol, due to heartbeats missing the next day, especially after a meal.

So now I have to make a decision. Either I eat, or drink. Only one to choose....
