My cat always had dry food in her bowl, but I fed her wet canned food every evening. She knew what time was feeding time because she would start bugging me and if I went into the kitchen at chow time, she was right there under my feet. LOL.
Like she was wearing a watch and could tell time.

Thanks Rcbbuckeye. My dog is the same way. They tell time and manage to train us really well.

I could call for my old B cat and he'd ignore me...probably sulking b/c i had been gone all day, but all I had to do was hit the can opener and let it whirr for a couple of seconds and I'd hear "Wham" the outside porch cat door opening and then a smaller noise as he went through the second one. He knew that meant soft food or sometimes a can of tuna! I could also call out "Chicken?" and he'd perk up.   I miss him, he was the best cat.

Thanks Mike. Some animals remain in our hearts for years after they're gone.

There's a YT channel, forget the name and I don't subscribe, but since I watch a few animal videos and them, it's often in my recommendations. The channel owner feeds some strays and has even built them a nice two story kitty condo. One cat she named D'Artagnan comes to the door and doesn't claw the screen, doesn't meow, but just stares when he's hungry. It's almost creepy but still funny.

I had 2 tuxedo cats and lost one last year a male at 12 years old to cancer and lost the other one a female this past April to cancer also...she was operated on but it came back..she was 11 so just recently adopted a beautiful mix female from the shelter...she's part tuxedo and something else but beautiful & 4 years old & is one of the sweetest cats I've ever had....so loving...just what I need after saying I would not get another cat..it's so very hard to let them go when it's time.

..anyway she's the only one I have fed canned cat food to...tried one friskies (turkey & cheese)
but she only would eat the gravy so bought a 12 pk of Fancy Feast chicken feast and she loves it.
Every time I go to the kitchen she goes to the fridge and meows...I was just going to give her a treat of it every now and then but now giving her a can a day...have to be strong or I'll have her big as a cow...she'll start mooing instead of meowing soon if I keep it up!

I forgot to say I keep dry food in her bowl all the time ...just didn't want yall to think I was starving her with only giving her a small can of food a day....lol
My plan was to feed her dry food but give her a little treat every now and then with some canned.
SO have to be strong and not let those sweet eyes convince me otherwise!...lol

Thanks Mike. Animals have so many ways of communicating.

Thanks Vergie. Animals seem to know how to wrap you around their little paws to get exactly what they want. 🐱?👤
