I think the media and esp. the social network sites doubled down on the Russian collusion angle as so to divert attention from their own collusion in attempting to affect elections.   Just like a magician does w/ sleight-of-hand, they wanted you to watch what one hand was doing while they did the actual trick with the other.

Even by their terminating conservative's accounts or shadow banning the most outspoken of them, they diverted attention from their message, mission accomplished.

Ever notice how conservative sites like Breitbart allow the lefties to comment? Sure, they're ridiculed by the other people commenting, but a post by a conservative, even a polite one yet challenging the narrative, will last about as long as a fart in a whirlwind?

And they have the audacity to call US "bigots" and "fascists".

Sign up for an account on Democratic Underground or some other lefty site and you'll see what I mean.   You see "Post has been deleted" all over the message boards in those places and it wasn't b/c of a personal attack or for obscenity or inappropriate links; they just didn't want those opinions being voiced.
