I've been aware of Project Pelican for several years; even though it was Obama's secret deal, the details still came out. This was the real "Russia collusion", making whatever (hypothetical) conversations Trump had with Putin to pale in comparison.

I remember telling people in MSN Chat in the days immediately following 9/11 that if the terrorists had really wanted to cripple the U.S., they should have instead flown several planes into the refineries that line the Houston shipping channel, not only destroying a huge part of our petrochemical infrastructure, but also killing many, many more than they did on 9/11.   It's also been a fear of mine that a small nuke could be smuggled aboard a cargo container ship and totally annihilate a port that way.   Even a "dirty bomb" could render a port useless for many years.

We live in frightening times and there's no "fixing" the threat, only being constantly vigilant.
