I got just a couple of spankings when I was a child but I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that there would be more if I did not behave myself. In fact, I got as many in school than I did at home. The schools wouldn't need to spank if the parents would discipline their children and teach them how to properly interact with others.

I've had this argument dozens of times in other forums and the old "fact" always pops up "The prisons are full of people who were spanked." No, the prisons are full of people who were ABUSED by their parents...or did not have a father/authority figure at home. A spanking is NOT abuse.
