I hope this movement spreads worldwide. Kudos to each and everyone planting. Trees need not be expensive. Properly planted bare root seedlings work fine, many times adapting much better than larger trees at a fraction of the cost.

That is great.
European countries were deforested as the population grew for its forest products.
Then when the new world was discovered they started deforestation for its forest products and land clearing for farm land.
Terrible forest management since the axe was invented.

Thanks JAP. In the 80's-90's building boom a lot of land was clear cut for development. I'm on the fence about it because some trees had reached peak life and had been root damaged by drought. For all practical purposes including watershed I'd love to see land owners, property owners plant trees which will benefit everyone. The use of hydro-gel in planting holes absorbs water holding it at the roots for the seedlings to utilize. That effectively decreases the number of times someone has to water. It's beneficial to houseplants also.
