On one hand, I can certainly sympathize with him, having had thousands of dollars worth of tools stolen from me and my house broken into, but on the other, the word "expensive" takes away some of the sympathy. Part of that is b/c I'm not a fan of Halloween. Surely he had some inkling that the two big skulls would be prime for stealing?

That said, the writer tried to be a little too cutesy with her calling the thieves "goblins" plus her inane movie references came across as not reporting the theft but trying to be clever...and failing, except to be flippant. That should be more of a felony than the theft of the Halloween decorations.
