Chilling. I wonder if people know they're taking Fentanyl or if it's being mixed with other opiates such as Hydrocodone or other oft-misused drugs?

When I was in college, PCP was just gaining popularity and some of my pals and I smoked a PCP laced joint. Heck, I knew what it was from being friends with the local veterinarian's son - it was a commonly used horse tranquilizer - but that didn't stop us from trying it.    It was instantly completely sedating and I would have been paranoid had I not been so messed up; I felt like I had to remind myself to breathe, it was as though that had paralyzed that automatic reflex.

Sammy Hagar once sang "How many things can get you high, I'm gonna try 'em all just once before I die." Sounds like Fentanyl is the one that will end any further experimentation with drugs, huh?

Thanks Mike. I don't know what the root of addiction is nor how to remedy it. However keeping outrageously dangerous drugs like that off the street is an excellent beginning.

For at least twenty years, since I first got online and even before that, I've been telling people that China is not our friend...anything but.

China used to take the long view on everything, at least back when Mao was still alive, but I think the new leadership has grown impatient. That, and the seriously skewed demographics from the "one child/one family" policy that led to many female babies being "aborted" post birth b/c families needed sons to take care of them when they grew old.

I also think this influx of Fetanyl is just one more piece of the strategy to weaken the U.S. with thoughts that the two countries will inevitably clash, be it over Taiwan or any of their other expansionist moves in the region. It's not just drugs, either, but lead-tainted children's toys and they ran American catfish farms and shrimp fishermen out of business by flooding our markets with cheap seafood raised in filthy, chemical saturated conditions...hell, they even have sold us poisonous pet food.

They already steal our military technology, trade secrets, even intellectual property and yet we've turned a blind eye to their thievery and have been buying millions of tons of cheap plastic crap from them...which we could have produced ourselves...not to mention totally destroying our steel industry. They've used the money they've made from us to build up their military and buy political influence, not only in Congress, but in Hollywood and even pro sports.

We are, in effect, giving them the money to make ropes with which they'll sell to us - as so to hang ourselves.

No, they are not our friends and anyone who thinks they ever could be is delusional.

Thanks Mike. History will likely show that we had well compensated politicians who facilitated all the above. Just my suspicions on the matter.
