Similar to what they said about Trump's 2016 win. The only one of the "blue wall' states he had a chance of winning was Wisconsin, but by spending too much time there (and other swing states) he lost Georgia and Arizona.

IMO, the real straw that breaking the camel's back was Trump's poor response to Covid-19.

He went off about Obama going golfing, yet in a pandemic, he did the same and worse. Concealing the truth from the American people. When word got out about the severity of the virus, he kept that info to himself” didn’t want the nation to panic.” How reassuring.
It’s the lies that sealed his doom.
I can’t begin to tell you how many times he would vouch for a person, and when that person got into trouble with the authorities, it was “ l don’t know the guy, l hardly knew him.”

His impeachment was a foregleam, a warning shot of what he could expect, instead of straightening up and acting Presidential, his retaliating behavior exposed him as a person unfit for office.
Four years was enough & the nation answered the call to get him out of office. His services were no longer needed.
