I read it on the Internet so it must be true!

Yet some people want to argue without proof when "the truth" they posted gets a liar-liar pants on fire rating. But they could get a pass if they just simply quoted their source and not plagiarize someone's opinion. OH, and for the record, I'm talking about the social media I see, not just on LP.

Many, many opinions on what to expect when Congress meets on Wednesday, but what the Constitution says is all that counts. From what I've read in multiple sources is Senator Josh Hawley is going to object some of the state Electoral results. And a group of Republican Reps are going to do the same thing in the House. Because there will be written objection from both the House and Senate, Congressional rules state the objection must be considered.

That's where the fun starts because to throw out any or all electoral votes each chamber must agree on the objections by majority vote. Even if the Republican Senate used their tiny majority, the House is controled by the Democrats making highly unlikely the vote in favor objections.

Wonder if after rejecting $2000 relief checks to the people in Kentucky, Mitch would vote to throw the results of his election?

This is troubling for America, how so you ask- because part of the job of Sec of State for the USA is to visit countries & stress " fair elections" so how do we crawl back from that abyss of denial in our own election? It's going to take a load to show countries that we more than that.
Biden's choice for SOS is going to be hard, his work is cut out for him in showing we are still a nation of rules, thatvwe still.care, and have a new sheriff in town. Not a moment too soon.

The Judge just tossed Gohmert's case. I read that on the internet, do l accept that as truth, or is this Texas Rep's lawsuit still alive and kicking?

A few years ago a story was making the rounds saying the University of Kentucky was no longer teaching about the holocaust because it offended Muslim students. And the conspiracy theorist Kool-Aid drinkers shared it every where they could on social media.

The first question should be why would a Muslim student and especially Jihadists be offended learning about the "Final Solution". Found out it was a story about one history teacher in one school in the United Kingdom and not the University of Kentucky that no longer taught about the Holocaust for an entirely different reason. The claim was explained and debunked as false in 2007, but it's still making the social media rounds.

Trump said "they stole the election", probably to solicit "get me out of town" contributions and conspiracy theorist like Sidney Powell took that cause and are lining their pockets from donations. Can't even identify the "they" or how they "stole the election" but millions of social media space is is devoted to their unfounded thories. Been two months and after losing over 55 court cases, it's about time to move on.

The point is people share lots of stuff they read on the Internet regardless of whether it's the truth or not and lots of their gullible friends swallow it hook, line, and sinker.

Yep, and it's not hard to find them even in places like the forum. Sending money in to Trump's defense fund which is going directly to lining his pockets. I see Cruz has decided to get in the action as well, he been noted skimming from some " cause" as well. Yet these star-struck fools keep sending in money.

It's really simple, both the House and the Senate must vote separately to dispute state results. For two months we heard all the amazing theories from the Kool-Aid drinkers and now it's down to whether a Democrat majority controlled House vote to overturn elections?

Please no laughing at all the foolishness!

I fear we will still hear this nonsense going forward. Biden needs to " raise his voice" and put his foot down right after inauguration. He needs to make it clear that moving forward that he is not going to stand for this for 4 years. Starting with calling both houses in and pointing fingers, especially at those who are pushing back at his win.

Not only are they going against the constitution, but they are taking it upon themselves to say they smarter than conservative judges appointed by Trump & others, but also that the scotus got it wrong, all incompetent as Trump sees them. These politicians have no business being in Washington, they ought to go back to their States and work at the local level. They are a national disgrace , all of them.

When Trump made his three Supreme Court nominees and the Republican lead Senate confirmed them, Trump really expected them to do whatever he told them to do including overturning the legal presidential results. The only reason I can see for Senators and Reps to back his play is so they can dip into Trump's fund raising cash cow. People that can't afford it are still still sending him money.

What happens in Georgia on Tuesday will do much to determine what we can expect for the next two years. Lots of people in Kentucky are really ticked off at Mitch about the $2K and bet he is getting lots of threatening letters. The hypocrite gave Trump whatever he wanted before Trump lost, but I guess helping the average American goes against Mitch's principles.

The judges Trump appointed have a conscience. They put country over a President, and not only that, but they realise that history will judge them on their actions while serving the people & upholding the Constitution. Trump is going to realise how small he has become in a couple of weeks.
The Maga folks can turn Mar- O -lago into Graceland if they want, the majority of Americans won't be visiting l fear.

I should add "I was told by Internet lawyers so it must be true". And that's really where all the voter fraud non-evidence is coming from. With Twitter and especially all the right wing pod casts, any President, House Rep, or Senator if they really believe the American people wanted Trump back, can convince them self, it must be true.

It doesn't change the fact if there was even a tiny bit of fraud in one low populated precinct (like the guy voting for his dead mother in PA.) they're going to need a lot more evidence than that to overturn this election. Wonder which of his lawyers (real or pretend) told Trump to call Georgia and demand they find another 11,800 votes?

Even IF a Georgia found 8,000 or was it 11,000 votes- Trump would still not make the 270. So what's the plan, get the 16 votes from Georgia, then work the phone's of the Sec6's of States in Wis, then Mich, then Penn Before Pence calls it for Biden?
Strong arm these folk to " find" those votes? What about the certification process that has been completed, just ignore those & shove yours through? Is this how business is going to be conducted in the future?

VP Pence if very limited on his role on procedure regardless what Trump says. He will go down in history as Trump's "yes man" which is only slightly better than fellow Indiana VP Dan "it's spelled p-o-t-a-t-o-e" Quayle's legacy.
