We got to the Washington monument at around 7AM and wanted to go to the Ellipse but were told by many that it was already to capacity. Saw a lot of patriots but also noticed a few individuals who we felt were trying to blend in with the crowd. This same group made a beeline for the congress just as President was finishing his speech and we followed them a bit but decided to head over to the Metro once we heard Pence didn't support president Trump.
We notice groups of national guards mixed in the crowd as well as the many snipers on the rooftops facing the monument.
Mayor Bowser did all she could to inconvenience the crowd as we didn't see a single port-a-potty and many areas were boarded up but a few food businesses were open for carry out.
While riding back on the metro is when we heard news of the armed crowd storming Congress and that shots were fired and that two individuals had been hit. We only found out later it was an unarmed woman with a Trump flag that got shot.

Thanks Unluckyone. I'm really glad you got to go. However, very saddened about the shooting.
