Another first for President Trump!!
Published:
Because he became the first President in 88 years to lose re-election, the House, and the Senate. History will decide it the losses are because he didn't do his job, tweeted too much, and played fast and loose with the truth or all the above.
Let's hope Trump's backers don't burn down the Capital Building.
Comments
When the smoke finally cleared and after 4 people died when Trump's supporters attacked the Capital Building, the Vice President and Congress went back to work recording the Electoral College results. The first order of business was voting on the Arizona Elector objection which was defeated in both the House and Senate. At Midnight Sen Josh Hawley decided he need to waste another two hours by objecting to Pennsylvania's Electors. That objection was also soundly defeated and the recording results resumed.
About 3:30 AM, Vermont put the President elect over the necessary 270 Electoral votes and a few minutes later Virginia and Washington made Biden's vote total 296. When Wisconsin had it's turn about 3:45 AM, Texas Rep Louis Gohmert decided to show the country how incredibly stupid he is by objecting to the Wisconsin Electors without any Senate signatures.
A few minutes later what will might go down as one of the worst in U.S. History, VP Mike Pence signed the results showing Joe Biden getting 306 Electoral votes and Donald Trump getting 232. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the same number of votes from two months ago and again when the Electoral College voted?
Sure looks like he was rescinding his "stand down and standby" order. In the end, who will be held responsible for the death of those four people?
