There is a message to the seven churches in the first chapter of Revelation and considering Paul was called to Rome by Peter to consolidate doctrine, now having many different ways to practice the same thing 2000 years later should be expected. And then there was the Council of Nicea in the 4th century, the 16th century Reformation period when Henry VIII creating the Church of England, and then came to the U.S. in the 17th century with the Protestant Pilgrims.

And when the U.S. Constitution with the First Amendment was ratified, the door was open for an early 19th century U.S. Religious Reformation. It should be no shock there are now about 45,000 different Christian denomination and sects.

Not sure if there are no schisms in other Religions because most have some different sects. Wonder if Atheists have multiple denominations and sects too?
