Is lifting C-19 mandates "Neanderthal Thinking"?

Published:

I suppose that depends on who you ask because lots of ignorant people* can't distinguish between "thinking like one" and "are one". Heard an interview with someone in entertainment suggesting opening arenas 100% to "promote herd immunity". Didn't say if that person was from Texas or Mississippi.

The county south of where I live has the highest per capita number of C-19 deaths in Kentucky, but one would never guess that based on the number of people not wearing a mask in the grocery store. Social distancing isn't exactly a high priority either. No need to complain or even wonder why; just go somewhere else. Maybe their idea of "herd immunity" is simply thinning the herd. Let's hope nobody contacts the virus going to a funeral.

Why are Republicans placing such a high priority on Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head? Is it because they lost all sense of reality in last six months?

*people like those believing the Expos won the 1994 MLB World Series.

I just talked to a friend today and seven people she knows just died from covid. Her mother just got out of the hospital after 5 days with covid. She said she had covid in november. A man I've know for years just died of covid at 53 years old. Its real and it's not going away.

Over 15 years ago, a buddy of mine went bungee jumping. His jump was from a bridge a good 150 from impact, well as one could imagine- the freaking thing came loose about 30 feet from the water. He survived and said after “ The heck with that.” Some folks were like “ come on man, at least you hit the water.”
My take on it is “ You only live once, why risk it?”
If you going in with the idea of “ who cares, l end up in heaven” than you dumber than you realize.
But back to the topic- What l would like to know is : Had 45 told the nation “ l want everyone to wear a mask to slow the virus, would they have followed his advice?”
I mean if 45 could say “ You need to take your country back- and they listened- would they have listened when death was in the line?” Well death was on the line on Jan 6th as well, you get the picture..

Reasonable people understand the danger of getting Covid-19 and do what they can to prevent contacting it. Some even voted for Trump, probably not because of how he handled the pandemic, but because they believed many of the "pie in the sky" lies he told.

It's becoming more and more obvious that many Americans live in alternate realities where if it was just "the virus is hoax" and "will miraculously go away in a month", wouldn't mean much if they wore masks and practiced social distancing if for no other reason than to pacify their neighbors. But now we're seeing people we thought were reasonable advocating taking over the government. And many of these people are Republican House Reps and Senators.

It's not about what "45" could have done because he basically did nothing except taking full credit for the first stimulus package. He didn't even have enough sense to tell the country he got vaccinated.

Remember when Desantis said “ where is this virus huh” which Pence standing to his side? Well it did arrive and Fl took a hit, what’s with that thinking?
Makes sense when you think that most of the astronauts have not come from RED States- l wonder why that is?

Not even one Republican Senator voted for the Covid-19 relief package as if the virus is no different than the common cold. They must be betting their voters will forget about it; just like they did in Georgia.

Heard on the KY Republican grapevine that Mitch might not finish his term. Probably has nothing to do with his wife's (the former Transportation Secretary) little problem of using her position and agency staff to help family members who run a shipping business with ties to China.

This same behavior against Biden is nothing new: They tried it with Obama as well. Mitch said that he was going to make Obama a " One Term President" well we know how that turned out. Funny how Karma has a way of biting one in the behind. When 45 ran, collectively conservatives said " He is not one of us" after he won- they got close to him " Not because he was now a true conservative" but they figured out a way to " Use Him." Mitch got him to bring judicial nominations to the floor, and everything else Mitch wanted. When 45 talked months in advance about " ballot fraud etc" they stuck around. When he lost, they showed reasonable concern for the guy, but we know it was because of fear for the base.
If 45 had no base- they would be no " questioning the election outcome, no Cruz or Hawley" putting up a fight- Definitely no visit to Mar a lago to get his blessing. He would have been treated like Nixon, a Pariah on the party, but its the Base, has always been the base.

The Supreme Court threw out another idiotic election fraud claim by another group of Trump supporters. It's not just "any-old-base", but one where people contributed millions of dollars and many of those dollars went to "stop the imaginary steel".

Similar to how Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland make millions.

To think 45 rushed to fill the seat of Ginsburg, thinking Amy would do his bidding when it went to crunch time. Much to his surprise, things went exactly as history intended it to go. For once- conservative judges in all the courts that lawsuits were presented said “ Enough is enough.” I think his first of many mistakes was talking down to judges as “ An Obama appointee, or those appeal courts in Liberal or blue States.” How do you spell : Good riddance?”

Amy Barrett was and still is more qualified than Brett Kavanaugh, but Trump didn't want to replace a male justice with a female.

Right now there is a very quiet investigation into Kavanaugh's 2018 background check.
