I did a little research on this piece & the author of this is implying it’s a political party’s fault, that is somewhat false.

Turns out an article from Dec 15th under the title “ Why are residents trying to get Pound’s Mayor thrown out?”
Carson the Mayor has only been on the job since July last year. The main issue seemed to have been that the Police dept’s budget was $ 380K, the general fund was $586K “ Perhaps” the residents forced Carson’s hand to cut back on the Police dept’s budget since it was 60% of the Gen budget.

At best- the article is disingenuous.

The residents need to “ Man up” if they pushed for more money to go to other dept’s instead of the lion’s share going to the Cops... just saying!
