People who have dogs should take into consideration of the type of dog they have or want to get.
We just had here in Charleston S.C. area a 1 year old child that was mauled by a pit bull that got out of the laundry room. The child died in the hospital from the wounds.
Killer type dogs are really not to be had around.
My neighbor had a couple dogs he got and put in his back yard. I did not like the dogs as they charged up to the chain link fence separating the yards every time we in the back yard.
I fixed that. I got solid board fencing about 6 feet high and put it between the yards and half way down the back fence line.
I would have shot them if they entered my back yard. No questions asked.

I was a kid about 12 or 13. I was raised on a farm in the notheast. We had a bunch of chickens now and then. Mostly layer hens. But when the chicks were delivered a few roosters use to sneak thru in the delivery.
There was this one rooster who grew up and had spurs about 2 inches long. Every time I went near the hen house he would charge out from the flock and start spurring up my leg. I chased him off a few times until I got sick of his attitude.
The next time I went up near the hen house I carried a big stick. He came charging up and BAM BAM BAM. He ended up as Sunday dinner.

This is proof that sometimes there are things too important to politicize and above partisan politics, this should be the case more often.
