The Pres is going to choose people that support him and his agenda. If you don't you're gone, it's always been that way. Nothing new there with Trump firing people. As far as Supreme Court justices, if it works out that you get to nominate someone, chances are you going to pick someone that may share your or your party's beliefs or agenda.
