* You are very naive. I recall some Republican politicians including Lindsay saying Trump did not represent the GOP. Yet when Trump won the nomination: They were all in for Donald. They may not have liked him or his style, but they had to live with him cause he was now their standard bearer.

* The GOP lost it’s soul when none of them found any wrong of any kind on not one, but two occasions.
