Days of Our Lives

Published:

Instead of saying, "This is the first day of the rest of my Life, think, "The is the last day of my Life, and I'm going to live it as if I don't have any more."

a friend of mine, in good health, died unexpectedly.

The way I party everyday, it does seem like I'm living like it's the last day on earth. Party like it's 1999...
A whole bottle of wine isn't too much to drink everyday is it? Plus cigarettes? And maybe a little wacky tobacky?...LOL

I am sorry to hear about your friend, Emily. It's true that you never know when it's your time. My aunt never smoked a day in her life and died in January from lung cancer. (although she had diabetes which made her immune system vulnerable to the chemo)

There's an expression "Her death was untimely." We read that a lot in books or biographies. Of course a child's death is the hardest, but I always wonder what that means, since it's never a good time for someone to die. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You are a kind lady.

My condolences also, Em.

Death is very difficult for us to deal with. That's why it's perplexing that so many fellow humans on this planet have little or no respect for life. My feeling is that religion's promise of an afterlife blind people to the reality of death....ceasing to live as we know it.

I had a near death experience once in the operating room. It was horrible. So when my grandmother died in March this year, I had to relive that painful episode along with the loss of her. I know how this affects us. I guess I felt it coming. Though I didn't know of her illness until much later, I found out that hers began the same time my panic attacks started. Everytime I was hospitalized with a panic attack, she was hospitalized with heart problems. It was a very scary situation. I thought I was dying. She was. She was solid as a rock. I was weeping like a baby. I guess what I am saying is, it doesn't matter if you know it's coming or if you get hit with it suddenly, it's still gonna hurt like ****.   You're still gonna greive. It truly is a test of your faith. I hope you don't have the hard time I had with it, emilyg. I hope you can move on and realize what fun there is to be had out there. And appreciate the beautiful things around you right now. If anything, go over to justxploring's page and get a laugh. That girl's a riot, in my opinion.
