Read where "Catcher in the Rye" is still a must read in 12 grade English classes, but probably not in Texas. When certain books are banned, many people especially kids will ask why and might even read the book to find out what the controversy is. Before 2000 that meant buying the book or finding it at a public library, but today kids can read Lawn Boy on their smart phones.

A few people are still demanding the Bible be taught in public schools, but though I never read either of the books mentioned in the article, they can be more explicit than the last nine verses in Genesis 19 or the apparent crime in Genesis chapter 9, verses 23 and 24.

* It’s the “ look at us pure in mind folks & then look at the other folks.” Chris Wallace asked Abbott flat out when the topic of abortion came up on Foxtv dealing with the 6 weeks thing. Abbott’s response was “ We going to lock up the rapists etc etc.”

*Abbott’s response remained the same “ We going to find and lock up these guys.” Those are fine sound bites but it does not solve the problem. As much as l detest abortion, putting stuff like that on ballots in order to please a segment of society is shortsighted. Abbott’s plan for his wall is another, he is under the impression that the flow of illegal immigrants will stop. He forgets the famous words from Fields if Dreams- “ of you build it, they will come.”

* The other thing l find hypocritical is the attack on California per se, by Bhagwan Rajneesh & others: All those Red States have been getting their porn flowing out of California & abroad for years. We know they read it but they will deny it. They conveniently forget that Jimmy Swaggart was nailed with both porn paraphernalia & a prostitute. Enough said.

Larry Flynt won a Supreme Court decision against Jerry Falwell and after Falwell's death, Flynt said despite their differences, he and Falwell had become friends over the years, adding, I always appreciated his sincerity even though I knew what he was selling and he knew what I was selling.
