Smash and Grab "around the country" doesn't really fit the story too well.
It should say Smash and Grab "in the usual Democrat controlled areas" where criminals know that nothing will be done about it even if they get caught.
The Democrats wanted to defund the police and a lot of them quit and retired early and now the Democrats are getting just a taste of reaping what they have sown.
In their deranged mentality Democrats thought that if they de-criminalized crime and did away with bail that things would get better.
