It's hard to believe that happened 80 years ago today. Twenty-five years later I can remember standing and giving a moment of silence in school. I knew two men that were in the Navy at Pearl Harbor that morning. Most of the men at the VFW I belonged to were WWII Vets and each of their lives were greatly effected when "the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan".

"In charge of an ordnance repair party on USS California, severely injured by explosions and twice rendered unconscious by nauseous oil fumes while setting up a hand-supply ammunition train for the antiaircraft guns, ordering shipfitters to counterflood to address a list (keeping the California in action), repeatedly entered flooding compartments to drag unconscious shipmates to safety."
Bet your dad knew him.
