Well, she's about the same age as Dopey Joe so she's probably as senile as he is and then you have the fact that she lives in a California hellhole city which means she has been breathing dried human fecal matter and probably stepping in piles of human excrement all the time and dragging it into the convent and then walking in it barefooted and getting it in her bed and all that. I would say living in California is punishment enough.
