He is correct, there is nothing that legally bars a person from running for elected office even while incarcerated. Wouldn't even be the first. The problem is what happens when a person wins an election while incarcerated, then what? It's a pointless thought exercise, Trump will never go to jail.

Eddie Tipton is a terrible analogy. Tipton was never elected to any position and non-elected gov't employees get fired when they go to jail.

The "severity of the situation" here that you're getting all giddy about is the exact same "severity" that Bug-eyed Adam Schitt always gets all giddy about in every other failed attempt to get Trump not to run for President.
