Tucson is a city with a government of, by, and for the weirdos.
They have a huge monument honoring Pancho Villa downtown.
If you choose to live with weirdos like that, you have to deal with their weirdness.

When I was a kid we would go outside in the morning, come home for lunch, go back out, come home for dinner, go back out, then come home when it got dark. We played in the street, empty lots, at the school, in the woods, walked along the railroad tracks, skated on ponds in the winter, we went everywhere.
I would ride my bicycle all over town and put hundreds of miles on it. And nobody wore a helmut either. Times sure have changed. I blame it on the helicopter parents They ruined it for the kids.
